Meet Katie!

Katie Hird, OTD, OTR/L is an occupational therapist, feeding specialist, and lactation counselor who helps children and young adults who struggle with eating, sensory challenges, and mealtime stress. She earned her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from Creighton University. She has spent many years learning with Marsha Dunn Klein through the Get Permission Approach, Her work focuses on building trust, connection, and positive mealtime experiences for children, young adults, and caregivers. 

Katie also plays an integral role at the Get Permission Institute, contributing to administrative operations while also sharing her specialized knowledge through Live Monthly Mentoring sessions. As a Marsha Dunn Klein Feeding Fellow, she brings a depth of clinical expertise and a passion for supporting other practitioners in their professional growth.

Outside of her professional setting, Katie is a dedicated mom who loves to spend time with her family, friends, and loves to travel when she can!
